Alumni Success

Every dancer travels a unique path in order to discover a unique destination.

Dedication to the study of dance is a learning process that reveals precious self-knowledge and yields the acquisition
of priceless life skills. ECB dancers are artists and scholars
who pursue careers in both academics and the arts.
Harvard University President Drew Faust lauds the benefits
of a dance education expressing the belief that,

“the arts are irreplaceable instruments
of knowledge….that educate and
empower creative minds across all disciplines.”

ECB alumni enjoy the benefits of dance training which stimulates cognitive skills, memory, powers of observation, critical thinking, creativity, and musicality. They gain courage, strength, poise, pride and confidence. Mannerly, respectful and determined citizens, our alumni have learned the benefits of hard work, practice, correcting mistakes, and time management.

Graduates are equipped with a foundation that opens doors for unlimited careers and life choices.

“The dance education I received at ECB provided me with the skills to both succeed as an international professional ballet dancer and to excel as a student in one of America’s top Universities. ECB’s focus on nurturing healthy and intelligent artists instilled in me a lifetime of discipline, motivation, engagement, achievement and self-confidence that can only be attributed to the sense of fulfillment I experienced as a young artist. Over the years I have come to recognize ECB as the secure base that enabled me to launch my journey through life.”

— Larissa Higgins-Dresden Staats Opera Ballet Company, Columbia University magna cum laude graduate.

“ECB was not only the foundation of my dance training, but where I felt at home. A loving family of staff and friends who push you without taking away your love of dance. I would never be the dancer I am today without Eastern CT Ballet. Dreams really do come true with hard work and dedication.”

— Carolina Santos Read-Fordham University, double major: BA political science, BFA dance, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.
